How to Care for Your Baby's Personalized Blanket
A personalized baby blanket isn't just another nursery item — it's usually the one thing that survives every move, every growth spurt, and ends up tucked away as a keepsake years later. A little bit of care goes a long way in keeping it soft and looking new.
Washing
Most of our personalized blankets are machine washable on a gentle, cold cycle. Turning the blanket inside out before washing helps protect the printed or embroidered name area from friction.
Drying
Tumble dry on low, or better yet, lay flat to air dry. High heat is really the main thing that shortens a blanket's life over time — it's harder on the fibers than washing is.
Keeping the name looking crisp
Avoid ironing directly over a personalized name or design. If you need to smooth the blanket, iron on the reverse side on a low setting, or use a cool iron with a cloth in between.
Storage between uses
If the blanket won't be used for a while (between siblings, for example), store it folded in a breathable cotton bag rather than a sealed plastic bin, which can trap moisture.
